What's .Wav Listening To? - April 2024

Updated: May 19

A Decade Deeper – Various Artists

Beautiful mix of songs for the nice weather. Just putting it on and hanging out makes me feel like sipping a glass of wine or something.

Loz, Event Director

Cold Visions – Bladee

Our Drain Gang Eurotrash king is back and more demented than ever. Nihilistic, maniacal, and arrogant, but Bladee is anything but derivative. Many try to emulate his style, and, to put it bluntly, they simply lack the same allure. You will notice more and more intricate layers of f11lth upon each listen.

Max Ray, Editor-in-Chief

Fuckin’ rips. Production by F1lthy, Woesum, Lusi, and Yung Sherman. Features from Yung Lean, Thaiboy Digital, and Black Kray. Need I say more?

Mac Moran, Playlisting

Dots And Loops – Stereolab

Dots And Loops is an experience. Mesmerizing and ethereal, it’s the perfect album for a dreamy spring day.

Sam Vitug, Playlisting Manager

Harlem World – Mase

I’ve been binging 90s hip hop and rap recently. “Feel so Good” is the ultimate feel-good groove (pun intended!).

Lily Tenner, Photographer/Videographer

Hyperdrama – Justice

This is the new Daft Punk. SO SO SO fire. “Incognito” and “The End” are my favs.

Lyle Rumon, General Manager

Pacer – The Amps

I am obsessed with this album. If you are a fan of The Pixies or The Breeders, this is for you. The Amps are a super cool Kim Deal side project everyone should know about. Her voice is soft and sweet, and I love hearing it meshed with the heavy, distorted guitar.

Bailee Isackson, Photographer/Videographer

SASSY THE SASQUATCH (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) – Jarrad Wright

This is the soundtrack for running through magic fields this spring, and for sweet drives up to Cambria. The grass is green, the birds are chirping, love is blooming and summer is coming. “Storm” and “Getting the Others” are my personal favorites.

Emma Thompson, Artist & Zine Production

Silk Road – Toner

I love this album. I can listen to it over and over again without getting sick of it. I love the way they play with the distortion. It’s just classic shoegaze and I’m wayyy too into it.

Kathleen Dunbar, Artist

The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess – Chappell Roan

This album makes me cry and laugh and dance and sing. Packed with many much-appreciated queer anthems. Chappell’s vocals make my heart flutter fr.

Julia White, Editorial

Thee Sacred Souls – Thee Sacred Souls

Every song on here is beautiful and puts me in a good mood. Thee Sacred Souls has such a cool, unique sound that is timeless and I could never get sick of it.
